The list of misconceptions about factory-built homes is long and tenacious! Most of these misconceptions are deep-seated and perpetuated from information that hasn’t been true for almost 50 years now!

AFFORDABILITY: Let’s start with a couple of revealing facts about the construction process of factory-built homes vs. site-built homes. These tidbits provide support to one of the REAL truths about why manufactured homes are more affordable! HINT: It’s not because of low standards and cheap materials.
Frankly, I don’t know how much space or poundage can exist inside one 55-gallon bag, but I know it won’t convert to tonnage. It’s probably safe to say that when you buy a factory-built home, your carbon footprint shrinks about a gazillion sizes. As well, when buying a factory home constructed after 1994, you can benefit from the affordability without forfeiting the quality of construction and safety standards. In fact, they fare better in high winds, suffering less damage and destruction overall when compared to site-built homes (says FEMA!)
